Tree Officer
A Local Authority in the South West is looking for a Tree Officer to consider and process applications for work to be done on trees covered by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). This would be on an initial 3-month contract with a view to extend.
About The Role
The client is looking for a candidate to come in and have the following responsibilities:
- Write reports whilst giving reccomendations to ensure quality and consistency
- Be compliant with statutory deadlines as well as timescales, this includes, preperation for appeals regarding a decision of the council on TPO's
- Consider and process works to trees in conservation areas and provide technical reports when needed
- Consider and process notifications for hedge removals
- Prepare new TPO's and update the old TPO's when required
- Support planning enforcement with hedge removals and unauthories tree works
- Prepare reports to present as evidence as a technical expert via written representation at hearing and planning inquries
- Prepare reports and present at planning committee meetings, to officers and public groups when required
- Provide arboriculture advice when required
The role will be a hybrid role with office presence required.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be chartered by RTPI, or an equivalent qualification and experienced in dealing with the above job description.
